I say "little" because the nest itself is not large enough to hold the eggs of a heavy or hefty bird. Mike found the nest, and Laurie passed it along to this nest-hoarding lady, who is still currently perplexed as to the type of bird who made this nest.
He deserves credit for waterproofing with plastic along the edges of the nest. How birds develop their nest-building techniques and use of materials, including littered plastic and snakeskins, remains a fascinating mystery to me. Max is currently scouring his bird books for information on the bird that might build such a wiry nest.
